Angels Among Us
Carried by the evening winds I heard the angel’s sigh, Just a faint whisper Echoing in the darkening sky. Hidden among the falling snow A feather, so white, Tossed among the tumbling flakes Glowing with a heavenly light. I heard her joyful laughter Above the sounds of the night, Laughing with childish joy Oh, sweet music of the night. I saw a shimmer of light From her golden halo, I know, Alive with the dawn’s early light Touched with a heavenly glow. The rustling of her wings As she prepared for flight, Rose above the roaring winds Calming them with her might. Tangled among my white winter rose Was a single strand of her hair, Filled with such delight She had knelt there. There are angels among us, Though we may never know. Their presence a loving comfort, As they silently come and go.
