Just Pretend
When the memories of yesterday Are too much to bear, I just pretend I was never there. Sometimes the pain Is just too deep, Nothing helps Though I scream, yell, and weep! In my dreams I’m back in yesterday, And all the pain and sorrow Finally go away. Then I awake And yesterday is no more, Unreachable, Behind fate’s sealed door. So when the memories of the past Are too much to bear, I’ll just pretend That I was never there.
